Reason for Policy

It is important that �� properly manage its data. Proper management of this data includes determining how long data are retained as well as when data are disposed of.

Policy Statement

All University data should be retained for as long as it is needed for the proper operation of the University. Data custodians shall make this determination for the data under their custodianship and create and document data disposal guidelines for such data. University data should not be retained and should be securely disposed of after it is no longer needed for the proper operation of the University or when prescribed by law, regulation, or contractual obligation.

Scope

This document governs all �� data in all locations, forms, and formats in the custodianship of all faculty, staff, and students.
