Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) is bringing a thrilling lineup of vintage NASCAR stock cars to the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe for the HSR NASCAR Classic presented by Goodyear. This event marks HSR's overseas debut and promises to be a celebration of racing history. The race will take place from July 3-5, 2026, coinciding with the Fourth of July holiday and the 250th anniversary of the United States. It's a unique opportunity to witness these iconic cars on the same track where the 24 Hours of Le Mans has been held for over a century.
The field is packed with historically significant entries, honoring both the sport's legends and NASCAR's rich history at Le Mans. One standout entry is the Richard Petty-inspired 1966 No. 43 Plymouth Belvedere, paying homage to the iconic driver. Victor Corda and Chris Stillwell will campaign 2009 Ford Mustangs with connections to the late Greg Biffle, while Michael Parsons will pilot the iconic black No. 3 Goodwrench Chevrolet Lumina, a car driven by the legendary Dale Earnhardt Sr. These drivers are joined by Kurt Busch, making his Le Mans debut in the HSR NASCAR Classic with his NEMCO-prepared 2020 No. 1 Monster Energy Chevrolet Camaro.
The event also features a tribute to NASCAR's groundbreaking Garage 56 entry from 2023, with JC France driving a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro. Additionally, a trio of 'Talladega Nights' inspired entries will honor the 20th anniversary of the film, including Ryan Gemmell in the No. 55 Perrier 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, 'Front Row' Joe Nemechek in the No. 47 Old Spice 2006 Toyota Camry, and HSR and IMSA President John Doonan in the iconic Wonder Bread 2006 No. 26 Toyota Camry.
This race is more than just a competition; it's a celebration of the sport's past and a unique experience for both drivers and spectators. The livestream coverage of the first two races on July 4th and 5th will bring the excitement to a global audience, allowing fans to witness this historic event in real-time. The HSR NASCAR Classic presented by Goodyear is a testament to the enduring legacy of NASCAR and its impact on the world of motorsports.
