Attention all Galaxy Watch 7 owners! Samsung has just dropped a new software update with a crucial security patch, but there's a twist.
The February 2026 security update, fixing 37 vulnerabilities, is currently only available in South Korea. With a size of 390.13MB and firmware version L310XXU2BZB1, this update is a significant step towards enhancing the security of your smartwatch.
Here's where it gets interesting: Samsung's update policy for Galaxy smartphones is monthly, but for their watches, it's a different story. Galaxy Watch models receive security updates every two to three months, which is a notable difference.
The Galaxy Watch 7 has been operating on the November 2025 security patch until now. While Samsung detailed the March 2026 patch earlier today, the watch is receiving the older February update.
We anticipate the update's global release in the coming days. To get it, simply navigate to Watch settings > Watch software update and tap Download and install.
And this is the part most people miss: Samsung's update strategy for smartwatches is less frequent than smartphones, which could spark a debate. Should smartwatches receive the same level of attention as smartphones when it comes to security updates?
What's your take on this? Do you think Samsung's approach is justified, or should they prioritize security updates for their wearables more frequently? Let us know in the comments!
