Alice Buckley's Journey to Supercars: A Story of Determination and Support
Alice Buckley, an 18-year-old racing sensation, is making waves in the world of Supercars. Her standout performances in the TA2 Muscle Car Series last season caught the attention of Supercars, leading to her move into the Super2 series. With a family-owned team based on the Gold Coast, supported by Matt Stone Racing, Buckley is set to make history as the first Australian female to secure a full-time drive in the Supercars era.
The ZB Commodore, adorned with the colors of Castrol, Autobarn, Shannons, and AC Delco, is the vehicle she'll be piloting. This car, numbered 888A-039, was previously raced by Ben Gomerall in the 2025 Super2 Series and underwent testing with Buckley in December. Buckley's excitement is palpable as she prepares to take on the Dunlop Super2 series, a crucial stepping stone towards her ultimate goal of racing in Supercars.
"I'm thrilled to be racing the Holden Commodore in the Dunlop Super2 series this year," Buckley enthuses. "The best part is that it's the feeder category for Supercars, which is where I want to go. This year, we're diving into a really exciting program. My goals are clear: I want to be named rookie of the year, and if I can crack the top 10, I'll be over the moon."
Buckley's passion for driving has been a lifelong dream, inspired by her early racing days with James Courtney. Her determination and talent have earned her the support of blue-chip brands, solidifying her status as a rising star in the sport.
"The support I've received has been incredible," she says. "Everyone has been incredibly accepting and encouraging, especially given that I'm a young female driver achieving notable results. I'm truly fortunate to have such a welcoming and supportive environment in the sport."
Matt Stone Racing is backing Buckley's program, alongside their own entries for Ayrton Hodson and Tommy Smith. Stone emphasizes the program's focus on creating an optimal environment for development, highlighting Buckley's proven race-winning record and exceptional potential. By providing engineering and race expertise, they aim to empower Buckley to excel in Super2 and beyond.
Buckley's commitment to racing will be a dual effort, as she'll also compete in the TA2 Muscle Car Series, driving the Chevrolet Camaro she debuted last year. The Super2 Series commences at Sydney Motorsport Park on February 20-22, while the TA2 season kicks off at The Bend Motorsport Park on March 13-15. Alice Buckley's journey is a testament to the power of determination, support, and the endless possibilities in the world of racing.
