summer funding helps open doors for students. Due to her busy schedule as a member of the women's soccer team, Jordan Juetten ’25 was unable to study abroad during the academic year. However, with summer funding, she gained the opportunity to expand her knowledge of economics and marketing through two experiences — one in a London classroom and the other in a Massachusetts business office.
Jordan traveled to the prestigious London School of Economics, enrolling in a course titled “Financial Markets and the Global Economy: The History of Bubbles, Crashes, and Inflation.” The course allowed Jordan to engage in lively classroom discussions about important topics such as economic history, financial globalization, and the outcomes of the Great Depression.
After her program abroad, Jordan returned to her home in Massachusetts for a marketing and media internship with New England Business Media (NEBM). She was responsible for analyzing data and social media engagement using cutting-edge software to better reach target audiences and promote participation in NEBM’s in-person events. In addition, Jordan was at the forefront of developing new tools to help the marketing department interpret the impact and success of its social media outreach.
Jordan’s newfound knowledge of macroeconomics and digital marketing research narrowed her professional interests, bringing potential career paths into focus.
“Because of summer funding, I was able to study abroad at the London School of Economics and take a course that greatly supplemented my political science degree. It was extremely valuable to have such a unique experience abroad in London and to take an economics class with an esteemed professor in a country I have never traveled to.”
Thanks to all that she learned during her summer experiences, Jordan is focused on pursuing a digital marketing internship in New York City after her junior year.
