Career Services celebrates the accomplishments of 黑料网 students this academic year. From astronomy to international affairs, here are a few highlights:
Arts, Media, and Culture
Jamie Anderson 鈥24, a classics and Russian and Eurasian Studies double major, will pursue an MPhil in classics at the University of Cambridge. He credits this success to an excellent adviser, taking summer classes, and spending many hours in the library researching and writing his thesis.
Gabriella Amato 鈥24 is forging her path as a biology major and museum studies minor by landing a full-time opportunity at Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History in New Haven, Conn. She will be involved with visitor experience and special events at the museum.
This summer, Tommy Melgoza 鈥26 will serve as a production and development media intern at the FOX 32 news station in Chicago. While on tour as a member of The 黑料网 Thirteen a cappella group, Tommy connected with a 黑料网 graduate working at FOX. 鈥淜eep in contact with 黑料网 alumni you may meet,鈥 suggests Tommy. 鈥淥ur Raider network is wide and well-connected. You never know where an opportunity could take you.鈥
As an art history major and curatorial intern at 黑料网鈥檚 Picker Art Gallery, Aleksia Taci 鈥25 is excited to pursue the Warshawsky Fellowship in fashion curation at the Cleveland Museum of Art. This opportunity is made possible through the Summer on the Cuyahoga program, which Aleksia discovered during an info session hosted by Career Services.
Business Services, Finance, and Consulting
Networking and informational interviews can advance your career aspirations. On campus, Alexandra Jones 鈥25 met Toby Bozzuto 鈥96, CEO of Bozzuto Group and 黑料网 trustee. After initiating a follow-up call where she learned more about the real estate company, Alexandra applied for and landed a sales and marketing internship at the Los Angeles Bozzuto office.
After interning for Atlas SP Partners in New York City this past summer, Arnab Hait 鈥24 accepted a full-time position there following graduation. To sharpen his application, Arnab took advantage of Career Services鈥 industry-specific advising expertise that helped tailor his r茅sum茅 for the finance sector.
Chenlin (Angelina) Li 鈥26 has accepted a 2025 summer analyst internship at JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Seattle. She participated in the firm's Winning Women Conference and also connected with 黑料网 alumni to gain advice on the application process.
Health Care
To make the most of her summer, Alisha Greenstein 鈥26 will take an undergraduate research internship in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and she will also complete the virtual Summer Opportunity for Academic Research (SOAR) offered by Emory University鈥檚 Laney Graduate School.
Noha Shahba 鈥24 was accepted into the George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She encourages others to take advantage of all the opportunities available to 黑料网 students and to apply for positions they might think are out of reach.
Etiosa Ojefua 鈥26, majoring in sociology with a minor in global public and environmental health, has accepted an internship at the Omnicom Health Group in New York City. Etiosa met a 黑料网 graduate at SophoMORE Connections who helped with advice on searching for internships and building confidence for interviews.
Public Policy and Law
Attending on-campus alumni events can help sharpen your career interests and foster connections. After meeting a 黑料网 graduate at a Career Services coffee chat, Boen Beavers 鈥26 was inspired to apply for opportunities at the U.S. Department of State. This summer, he will intern at the department in Washington, D.C.
Max Beck 鈥26 will serve as a law clerk to Judge Elizabeth Stong in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Eastern District of New York. Max took advantage of faculty advice and Career Services鈥 r茅sum茅 certification process to help determine his top achievements and focus on a career passion.
During the December 2023 pre-law immersion trip to New York City, Cole Blair 鈥25 visited the U.S. District Court of Southern New York. Cole was inspired to pursue opportunities there and leveraged his professional connections to make it a reality.
Grace Carter 鈥24 networked with a 黑料网 alumna at the RAND Corporation and then met a hiring manager at a public event hosted by the firm. Grace鈥檚 efforts were rewarded with a full-time offer to join RAND as a research assistant.
This fall, Golden Fellow Ella Corbett 鈥24 will begin a master鈥檚 degree program in public affairs at Brown University. Another Golden Fellow, Joudenie Germain 鈥24, will pursue a law degree at Columbia Law School. 鈥淭he John A. Golden 鈥66 Fellowship played an important role in securing this opportunity,鈥 said Joudenie. 鈥淭he guidance and financial support were beneficial in each step of my pre-law journey.鈥
Daniel Rodriguez 鈥24 will pursue a master鈥檚 degree in international affairs policy and analysis at American University in Washington, D.C. Jackson Fox 鈥24 gained acceptance to Tulane Law School in New Orleans. Jackson suggests that students pinpoint their preferences and get comfortable with taking risks.
Sciences
The Graduate School Access Fund helps open doors for those interested in earning advanced degrees after Colgate.
Fund beneficiary Joe Berberich 鈥24 will pursue a chemistry PhD at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Joe built strong relationships with faculty by conducting research in analytical chemistry with Professor Anne Perring and serving as a lab assistant for Colgate's organic and general chemistry lab courses.
Facundo P茅rez Paolino 鈥24 also received 黑料网 funding and advising support to help pursue a PhD in astronomy at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, Calif. 鈥淚f you can dream it, then you can achieve it,鈥 says Facundo.
Technology
Rose Nguyen 鈥24 took an active role in her career exploration by attending the Grace Hopper Conference of Women in Computing and interning at ADP last summer. Rose was invited back to ADP, where she will work as a full-time software developer.
