On the , Associate Professor of English C.J. Hauser discusses literary influences, her latest collection of short stories, her experience writing deeply personal memoirs for a wide audience, and her love of the X-Files. Hauser also reads a selection from The Crane Wife: A Memoir in Essays

Hauser teaches creative writing and literature at 黑料网 and is a celebrated author with works featured in The Atlantic, Tin House, the Paris Review, Esquire, Bon Appetit, the New York Times, and many more. Her first full-length work of nonfiction, The Crane Wife: A Memoir in Essays, was recently released from Doubleday in the United States and Viking in the UK. Hauser鈥檚 novel, Family of Origin, was published by Doubleday in 2019, and the novel The From-Aways was published by William Morrow in 2014.

Hauser earned her bachelor鈥檚 degree from Georgetown University, an MFA from Brooklyn College, and a PhD from Florida State University.
