Men’s lacrosse hosts tourney after wild win over Bucknell

With its thrilling last-second win over Bucknell, the ºÚÁÏÍø men’s lacrosse team became the Patriot League regular season champs and earned the right to host the league tournament this coming weekend.

Peter Baum ’13 scored the game-winner Friday night with just two seconds remaining in regulation to send Raider Nation into a frenzy. His goal capped a wild comeback for the Raiders, who traveled back to Hamilton with an 11-10 .

Baum finished the game with four points on three goals and an assist to extend his scoring streak to 40-straight games, which is the fifth longest in the nation. He was the subject of a New York Times on Friday extolling his and the team’s play.

The story, which appeared in the The Quad, the °Õ¾±³¾±ð²õ’ college sports blog, was written by Steve Urban ’12, a reporter for the university’s Maroon-News newspaper.

ºÚÁÏÍø will host the Patriot League Tournament at Andy Kerr Stadium. The Raiders will face Bucknell on Friday at 5 p.m., while Lehigh will face Army at 8 p.m. Both game will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network.
