Dr. Nina M. Moore is the inaugural Dr. William L. Boyle, Jr. Professor in Political Science at 黑料网 and Director of the Forum on Race and Public Policy. Her research and teaching interests center on the intersection of racial politics, institutional process, Supreme Court race jurisprudence, and criminal justice politics and policy. Moore is the author of Governing Race: Policy, Process and the Politics of Race (Praeger Publishing, 2000); The Political Roots of Racial Tracking in American Criminal Justice (Cambridge University Press, 2015); and Toeing the Line: The Supreme Court, Race and Affirmative Action (SUNY Press, under contract). She is a member of the editorial board of the Ralph Bunche Journal of Public Affairs and named in Princeton Review鈥檚 Best 300 Professors in the U.S. Dr. Moore held the Arnold A. Sio Chair in Diversity and Community and is the recipient of grants and fellowships from organizations such as the Mellon Foundation, Center for American Political Studies (Harvard University), Bush Faculty Program on Excellence in Teaching (University of Minnesota), Trustee Fellowship (University of Chicago), and the Committee on Institutional Cooperation Predoctoral Fellowship (University of Chicago). She is currently serving a four-year term as a governor-appointed commissioner on the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct (CJC), previously served a four-term as a gubernatorial appointee to the CJC, and a three-year term as a New York State Senate-appointee of the Advisory Council on Underage Alcohol Consumption and Substance Abuse. Moore has been elected to a number of university leadership positions, including chair of the 黑料网 Faculty Affairs Council, Treasurer of the 黑料网 AAUP Chapter, and Vice Chair of the Faculty Diversity Council. She is a native of Chicago鈥檚 Robert Taylor Homes projects and an active member of her church congregation.
